Books I Read in 2015

Here’s the list of books I’ve read or finished reading in 2015. I may have forgotten a few since I started writing the list in January and then forgot to come back to it til October and then forgot again to add to it until December. The list is what it is… ha ha!

1.  Stories I only Tell My Friends by Rob Lowe

2. The Good Psychopath’s Guide To Success by Andy Mcnabb and Kevin Dutton (So, So Good!… said the good psychopath…)

3.  How to Succeed in Business Without Really Crying, Lessons From a Life in Comedy by Carol Leifer

4.  The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer – Loved it.

5.  Yes Please by Amy Poehler – Wonderful as expected.

5.  Instant Mom by Nia Vardalos (some of the best writing a memoir I’ve read. I cried a few times. Nia is such a wonderful writer and person.)

6. Self Inflicted Wounds by Aisha Tyler

7.  Love Me Forever by Jera Sky (yes I wrote this and I also read it after I completed it!)

8.  James Franco’s Brother’s Birthday Party by Brandon Weaver and Jera Sky (yeah yeah… I think it’s hilarious!)

9.  Thank You Notes by Jimmy Fallon – Not what I thought it was. Meh. Best one was the driver’s license one. If more of them had been more attached like that I think it would have been funnier.

10. 7 Secrets of the Prolific by Hillary Rettig – Some good info, but also a bit too intense.

11. Your Next Big Thing by Ben Michaelis

12. Where in the Om Am I? by Sara DiVelio

13. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins – Surprised this has been on the bestseller’s list for so long. Didn’t really understand the hubub, it definitely was no Gone Girl. Okay, but very predictable. I was ahead of the story most of the time.

I still didn’t hit my 52 book goal but I did make 10 feature films this year.. give me a break!

About Love Me Forever

Jazminn Avery has been stalking a stranger for years, questioning her life along the way. She wanders the streets of London aimlessly trying to come up with “The Mad Woman’s Thoughts On…” articles for her magazine, Metropolitan, left to her by her late parents. She doesn’t really run it though, her best friend Sandra does and in an effort for more interesting articles encourages Jazminn to sleep with any man in sight in hopes of getting her to let loose and enjoy the life her parents worked so hard to provide her with.

On a chance encounter Jazminn secretly follows her obsession all the way to Tokyo in hopes of another meeting. When she gets there, her whole world changes…

This book is intended for mature audiences. This is a love story.

OMG! The Girl in the Spider’s Nest!

Today is interesting. We’re discovering people can in a way collaborate without really collaborating in order  to make an amazing body of work. We saw it when Twilight set the stage for Fifty Shades of Grey and now another guy has just picked up where Stieg Larsson left of for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Let me say, I LOVE THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO and hearing that the huge arc of series of books he was planning to do would never be completed, due to his death, was devastating to say the least. Lisbeth Salander is such an amazing and complex character and I could not wait to read more. I’m glad that now we finally have a chance to. Sure it may not be the story Stieg set out to create, but there’s something powerful in creating something that people want to continue to see expanded, even in your demise. That kind of motivation left is as real to immortality as I think one can hope to achieve and I’m so excited to read this. I haven’t read this yet, so I’m hoping for the best and that I’m right in thinking this is a good thing.

I’ve officially written an entire novel!

I've officially written an entire<span class= #novel! I started this a year ago thinking I could do it in a month and I did get more than halfway done that month, it seemed so easy. Then I got stuck. Then I started thinking the entire thing was stupid. Then I stopped. Then I said was gonna work on it and didn't. 10 months later I decided I had to at least finish it or else I had wasted all that time so I started to finish it. Then I forgot what I had wrote in the first part but kept writing anyway. Then I wanted to stop because thought it had gotten stupider. Then I kept going anyway. Then I got a lot closer and chased the endings I thought it needed. Then the right ending developed and wrote itself. Then I cried because the story had become an amazing one. How could I have ever thought it was stupid, there was so much of me in it. Then I realized I was simply putting pieces together now, I had to listen to what I had already created. My creation knew where to go even if I didn't. Then I wrote the last 1000 words all while wiping away tears. Then I felt something inside myself I had never felt before .Then I realized I had only written 900 and was 100 short of my goal. Then I kept going. Then, I had written an entire novel. I fuckin did it!It doesn't matter if it's good or not. I pushed myself to do something beyond what I felt capable of.I pushed myself beyond quitting. I am so fucking tired. #50000words #writer #accomplished #exhausted #drained #excited #terrified #alltheabove #process #keepgoing #positivity #progress #optimism #goals" />

List of Books I read in 2014

How did I get where I am? I think reading is a huge part of that.Implementing what you read and learn is key though. While it’s impossible to share everything I’ve ever read, in the more recent years I’ve been trying to at least log what I’ve read. I should have made notes about each as well but alas I have not. I’ve got all kinds of highlights in the books in my kindle, but I’m just too busy to go through them all. right now. I’ll try to update it as I have downtime, but no guarantees. If you’ve got specific questions about one feel free to ask and I’ll try to answer!

1. Attempting Normal by Marc Maron

2. Coreyography by Corey Feldman – Oh My God! I couldn’t even believe all the stuff that happened. I used to love the two coreys when I was a kid and it was just so sad to hear about all the crap they were going through.

3.Melissa explains it all by Melissa Joan Hart – This was pretty vanilla. I don’t know how else to explain it.

4. Is it just me? By Miranda Hart

5. Bonkers by Jennifer Saunders – YES!

6. One more thing by BJ Novak (partial)

7. Divergent by (partial) – Really liked the movie, book is a lot darker, wish the movie had followed this more.

Gonna start logging a bit better of all the books I’ve read or movies watched etc.

Why? So it feels like I’m accomplishing something! ha ha

Also to become more successful I’ve tried to surround myself around more successful people and reading is a way to do that easier than say shmoozing at a party or never getting to meet Richard Branson in person…. Plus you learn a lot more about a person and they usually share more vulnerabilities than they would otherwise.
