I’ve been spending way too much time looking into tiny house sorts of things this week, but I feel like my brain has just been permanently shifted and I need to figure this thing out. I hate that the cities are fighting this idea. I want to be able to live in a tiny home and be able to live in the city and have a yard for my dog to run around in without having to shell out a million dollars here in Los Angeles. I don’t think I’m asking too much at all. If I’m game, the city should be too. I hate how much we are pushing consumerism especially by the average home size being ridiculously bigger than anywhere else in the world. GROSS! Let’s all choose to live wonderful, fun, stress free lives that are not always burdened by money. I would LOVE that!
Heres a little video about how my head has been driving me nuts with trying to be more minimalist. And let me say I’m still quite far from it. We’ve given up our tv, couch, dvd player, playstation, entire dvd collection, lots of wardrobe (I’m at about 55 pieces not including undies and socks!), plus lots more.
However I’m getting stuck at ridding myself of things but still feeling like I have way too much. I’m craving the freedom that having only the necessities brings.
This is part of my journey to minimalism. I’m still extremely far from where I would like to be, but every single day my boyfriend and I are working towards it so we can have a better life.
An update on our previous efforts of moving towards minimalism. There is still a lot of stuff, but a lot less. Slowly but surely we will make the change. I feel a lot better being aware about everything that is in the house than just accepting it all. I could actually get rid of more, faster, but I want the change to stick, so I’m trying to not make any overly dramatic changes in hopes of avoiding going back to having too much.
